This Fathers day we celebrate the birth of the father of Methodism this June 17 as the birth of John Wesley. He was born on June 17, 1703 on Epworth near the town of Lincolnshire, England. Born to the family of Samuel Wesley rector at Epworth and his wife Susanna Annesley Wesley. Through his mother he got a strict discipline and early education as Susanna Wesley provided each of his children an hour or two a week to teach and have time with them.
