Quezon District Adjourned Session held in Atimonan UMC

District Conference Adjourned Session in Atimonan UMC.

The Quezon District Adjourned Session was held in Atimonan UMC in Atimonan, Quezon. The Rev. DS Joseph Flores gave the challenge in the opening worship. He reminds the calling that every church workers have and the mission entrusted to them.

Rev. Edgar Cruz who was member of the Laguna District attended the Quezon District Adjourned session as the chair of the Board of Pension of the STPPACE. He presented the new scheme to raise funds for the annual conference pension fund. Aside from the 1 % of the total annual budget of the local church to be given to the annual conference pension fund there will be a individual contribution depending on the local church they were assigned. The chair also promotes to the pastors to apply for the Social Security System under the P 15, 000 category.

Also present in the session from Laguna District is Zenaida Ablao of Sta. Rosa UMC as the annual conference treasurer and rendered her report who failed to report in the annual conference. The STPPACE 4th session mandated the treasurer to give an audited report to the adjourned sessions of the districts.

The chair of the Finance Committee of Quezon District, Aniceto Nieva Jr., wishes to resign from his office and vied for other position. But the session didn’t have a person in mind to replace him so the matter was laid on the table. The new workers’ fellowship president is Felipina Pera a Christian Education deaconess of the Atimonan UMC. Pastor Federico Quinit Jr. took the District Statistician office and Pastor Vincent Pacto took the Outreach Ministries chair.

Workers Fellowship meets and elected its officers

Nilo Honrubia of Capaluhan mission was elected as member of the District Board of Trustees and as the chair. The Session also elected its members according to respected classes.

The officers of the District UMYF were present in the District meeting and rendered their report led by Joshua Arevalo of Alabat UMC.

Rev. Mervin Anthony Montano who was now part of the Quezon District was elected as Lay Speaking Committee chair. The next district activity will be on September in Kalinangan UMC in Calauag, Quezon.
