The United Methodist Youth fellowship of the Quezon District has joined the Laguna District along with the Annual Conference officers to held the joint Christmas Institute this 2012 with the thrust of Discipleship entitled “Imparting to Leaders, Multiplying the Vision” held at Mt. Tabor Recreational Center in Cabuyao City in the province of Laguna (near the Palace in the Sky of Tagaytay City, Cavite) last December 26 – 30, 2012.
About 42 delegates of 120 young people attended the event came from the Quezon District. The largest delegation was from Atimonan UMC which was attended by 24 young people. Led by Quezon District UMYF president Joshua Arevalo with his UMYF officers joined the program of forming discipleship group among the young people in each of local churches.
There were lectures, Bible studies, games and film showing which were part of the program inculcating among the young people the importance of discipleship. They have also adopted the Bible study made by the national UMYF entitled “Soak in Christ”.
The activity hopes not just to strengthen the fellowship among the young people, their spirituality and train them for discipleship and ministry in the church especially in Quezon District.
