6th Session of STPPAC held in Quezon Province

6th session 6For the first time that the annual conference is held in Quezon Province which is held at the Atimonan United Methodist Church at the town of Atimonan of the Province of Quezon in its 6th regular session held last February 18-19, 2014 presided over by Bishop Rodolfo A. Juan with theme “Promoting Accountable Discipleship in the Manila Episcopal Area”.

It was requested by the bishop last 5th session which was held in Sta. Rosa UMC in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to held in Quezon Province the annual conference which is the highest legislative regional body of the United Methodist Church . Though he expect one church in Quezon Province to accept the invitation, in the middle of the conference year Atimonan UMC accepted the challenge of hosting one of the important event in the life of the local churches in Southern Tagalog. There was once an attempt which was invited by a lay delegate to the annual conference from Atimonan in one of its session to hold its session in Atimonan but was not approved. Only now that the bishop request to held the Conference in Quezon Province and Atimonan UMC took the chance of hosting.

Rev. Nazzer Oliveros the administrative pastor of Atimonan UMC led the preparation to host the annual conference inspite of limited resources. Usually host churches contributes to the budget and that is why big churches hold such gathering. But with few adjustments the conference council of finance and administration coordinated with Atimonan UMC regarding hosting matters.
6th session
New officers were elected namely Pastor Cristobal Pera of Pinagbayanan UMC (Laguna) was elected as conference secretary, Gloria Fortaleza as conference auditor and Khristy Mejia as conference statistician. A new district superintendent was appointed and which was the first lady DS for Laguna District in the person of Rev. Emellyn Dellosa from Calamba UMC. And new appointment for church workers were read during the session.

6th session 3
Atimonan UMC is a medium sized church with kindergarten school and had celebrated its 55th year last September of 2013.
