Rev. Francis Pera – pastor of Body of Christ UMC in Rizal province was appointed by Bishop Rudy Juan as the new solo district superintendent of the Laguna and Quezon Districts during the recently concluded 7th session of STPPAC held at Pacita UMC in San Pedro, Laguna.

The clamor for single DS or lone district was part of a proposal by most lay people and clergy of Quezon District as to give the district a chance for growth which only has three established small congregations and most of the congregations are still under mission status. Most of the churches were situated in rural and agricultural setting which needs contextual mission and administration approach.

He pursues his studies in Rizal and continues his pastoral work there. He is one of the pastors who came from Calauag, Quezon including his brothers Cleto and Cristobal. Rev. The single DS for the Laguna and Quezon is seen as practical way administering a provisional conference and would allow to grow its resources and focus on its mission. Inspite of outside financial support a more comprehensive support is needed in order to boost growth for the churches. And also more importantly according to the bishop the forte of Rev. Pera in disciple making would be a great help and would be the main focus for growth of the churches.

Rev. Pera is married to Gemma also from Calauag, Quezon.
