Last February 11, 2017 the District Conference Session was held at Atimonan UMC in Atimonan, Quezon where the DS, Lay leader and the boards and committees presented their report. Rev. DS Francis Pera reports on the progress of the churches in terms of membership and financial performance and with the impact of the UMC DOC program.
The United Methodist Church – Disciples of Christ which is an evangelism and discipleship program under the Manila Episcopal Area aims to intensify the faith and service of each church members and had a large impact on the church. Church members in Atimonan UMC had more than 20 “primary” disciples and had under gone up to 5th Accountable Discipleship Course which is a ladderized discipleship course. It is also reflected in the increase of the financial commitments to the connection. Galilee UMC which is located in a rural area of the town of Calauag have increased in their worship attendees and also its funds.
The report was also confirmed by the report of the District Lay Leader in person of Aniceto Nieva Jr. who is member of the Atimona UMC. He commends the able leadership of DS Francis Pera and also thank the faithful services of the pastors, deaconesses and lay ministers in the district.
Jester Querubin, the chairman of the church council of the Atimonan UMC gave the opening devotio0n and challenges his hearers to continue step forward in their commitment with the Lord and as the new theme of the denomination says “Therefore Go”.
